    Sinusitis / Rhinitis

Sinusitis / Rhinitis is inflammation in the sinuses or the nasal passages.

Although it may be an acute condition such as a cold - this is discussed under Upper Respiratory Tract Infection.

These conditions are most often associated with allergies or sensitivities, and include hay fever and other similar symptoms.   They may well be aggravated by food sensitivities.

The symptoms themselves include coughing, sneezing, runny or blocked nose, nasal or facial irritation and itching.   They may also be associated with ear infections or wax in the ears.

Conventional treatment is usually based upon the use of steroids to try and reduce the underlying inflammatory process.   However, this usually only suppresses the condition, and when they are reduced or stopped the symptoms become worse.

Complementary and Alternative Medicine has much to offer patients with sinusitis or rhinitis, and is far better at controlling the symptoms and - if used appropriately - alleviating and reversing the condition.

    How Can We Help?

We offer a caring, alternative approach to your needs.

We specialise in Complementary & Alternative Medicine, and there are a number of approaches that can help.

Each person is dealt with individually. Each person’s needs are different. The actual treatment will vary from person to person.

There are a number of factors that may aggravate the condition, and these include stress, allergies, poor immunity, or even digestive or liver problems. These need to be considered and dealt with as necessary.

We often recommend a number of tests to evaluate the condition, and to exclude these factors.

Following an initial assessment, or a free initial consultation (may not be available at some Clinics), a recommendation will be made regarding suitable tests or treatment.

    What Tests Do You Need?

A number of tests may be of benefit, including the following:

    • Full Body Screening
    • Allergy Test
    • Vitamin and Mineral Test

We usually recommend a Vitamin and Mineral test for most of our patients, as vitamin or mineral deficiencies can contribute to many health problems.

It is not always necessary to carry out any tests in sinusitis or rhinitis, as it is often possible to obtain good relief from the symptoms with a number of approaches.

    What Advice Do You Get?

The actual advice given depends on the individual.

Dietary changes are usually recommended in sinusitis or rhinitis, and milk / dairy should always be considered.   It is generally accepted that milk / dairy increases the production of mucus in the body, especially in epithelial tissues, and dairy products should therefore be avoided completely prior to or when starting a course of treatment.

The actual treatments recommended will vary.  Acupuncture, Reflexology, VacuPressure or others may be useful.

Nutritional, herbal and homoeopathic medicines can also be very effective.

An effective treatment programme – based on the therapies discussed above – is recommended during your consultations.

    How Successful Is Our Treatment?

Our treatment programmes are usually very successful. We often succeed where others have failed.

The reason for this is due to the tests carried out – which enables us to tailor the treatments according to the specific needs of the individual – and also due to the experience we have gained over the years together with the efficacy of our unique, specialised products – herbal, homoeopathic and nutritional.

Most – if not all – of our patients have benefited from out treatment programmes. Individual treatment programmes may be complex, and may need some commitment to follow successfully. Dietary changes together with a number of supplements, herbal and / or homoeopathic medicines to take every day, together with weekly treatments may be required for a period of at least 10 – 12 weeks.

    How Much Does it Cost?

It is impossible to estimate the cost in any individual person, as the treatment recommended will vary from person to person.

The tests that may be required also vary in cost, and further information may be found together with information relating to each specific test.

The costs of individual therapies and products also differ, and you should refer to current price lists, or make enquiries at the Clinic.

We always offer a FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION, and further information regarding cost may be discussed at this time.

(Free consultations may not be available at all the Clinics we visit.)
