The competition season has started in ernest and Clyn Du's horses have been out and about.
Two of the centre's young horses, Thomos and Charisma, made their debuts at the Gower Riding Club Show.
Charisma did a dressage test and two rounds of show jumping, being placed every time. She cleared all the fences and looks to have potential.
Thomos went along for a taste of show atmosphere. He is cutting a tooth so his competition debut will have to wait a few weeks at least. However, he jumped a clear round with Bobby.
Verona and Sarah Pettigrew's pony, Cracker, joined the fun and jumped the junior novice course, just clipping the last fence to spoil what looked like a clear round.
Peggy, with Liz Pugh, also entered the junior jumping and went clear.
The real busniess began with the Riding Club Senior Novice Jumping on June 12th. Sony and Oliver were part of a four horse team, ridden by Rhian and Bobby. On a rare sweltering day, both horses made signifcant contributions and the Gower A team was the only team to jump a double clear. They will now travel to Malvern for the National Riding Clubs Senior Novice Jumping Championships in September.
