| LATEST NEWS :
The Gardening Club does not meet in August, but on Wednesday 10th September Roger Turner will talk about plant association and borders.
Barford Gardening Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month, excluding August, at 8:00pm in Barford Memorial Hall. We have an interesting and varied programme which covers speakers, demonstrations and garden visits. Each meeting ends with free refreshments and time to socialise. Old and new members are always welcome, as are visitors. Subscription is £15 per year.
We are always pleased to see new faces, so please come and join us. The Programme of Events for 2008 is listed below.

JULY MEETING :
At our meeting in July, Christine Dakin was booked to tell us about her life as a jobbing gardener. Unfortunately she did not turn up, possibly due to the appalling weather. However, we had a thoroughly enjoyable meeting, with Hilary Maynard telling us about the time she was a jobbing gardener - very entertaining - and we had lots of time to chat and socialise.

JUNE MEETING :
In June the Club enjoyed an excellent visit to Broughton Grange Gardens near Banbury. This beautiful garden was spectacular and the weather was kind to us.

MAY MEETING :
Derek Walton was the speaker at our meeting in May. He talked enthusiastically about the vast array of wildlife we can find in our garden if we just take the time to look closely.
An Extraordinary General Meeting was held to discuss the future of the club. Due to dwindling membership, rising costs and the lack of volunteers to run the club it is no longer viable. It was decided that sadly, the club will close at the end of the year, with the possibility of resurrecting it at some time in the future should a new committee and an influx of new members come forward. A final decision will be made at the AGM in January 2009. The programme for this year will run as planned (see below).
