    Ischaemic Heart Disease

Ischaemic heart disease includes conditions such as angina and heart attacks (myocardial infarction). It often leads to complications such as arrhythmias, heart failure, stroke and so on which are dealt with separately.

There a numerous causes of ischaemic heart disease. A careful history is the key to a proper diagnosis. Smoking, high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol levels are important risk factors, as are others including age, gender, family history and so on.

The symptoms of angina are caused by constriction of the blood vessels supplying blood to the heart muscle, and if these become blocked they may lead to a heart attack, where there is irreversible damage to the heart muscle cells. Angina is usually experienced as central chest pain, often spreading to the neck or down the arm (particularly the left side), brought on by exertion.

Once the diagnosis is made, conventional medicines are used to dilate the coronary blood vessels, prevent spasm, lower blood pressure and to thin the blood. Drugs however often cause troublesome side-effects, and the role of complementary medicine may be to reduce the amount and dosage of drugs used long-term.

    How Can We Help?

We offer a caring, alternative approach to your needs.

We specialise in Complementary & Alternative Medicine, and there are a number of approaches that can help.

Each person is dealt with individually. Each person’s needs are different. The actual treatment will vary from person to person.

There are a number of factors that may aggravate the condition, and these include stress, hormone imbalance, and even the presence of heavy metal toxicity or parasites in the body. These need to be considered and dealt with as necessary.

We usually recommend a number of tests to evaluate the condition, and to exclude these aggravating factors.

Following an initial assessment, or a free initial consultation (may not be available at some Clinics), a recommendation will be made regarding suitable tests or treatment.

    What Tests Do You Need?

A number of tests may be of benefit, including the following:

    • Full Body Screening
    • Hormone Test
    • Vitamin and Mineral Test

We usually recommend a Vitamin and Mineral test for most of our patients, as vitamin or mineral deficiencies can contribute to many health problems.

It is not always necessary to carry out any tests in Ischaemic Heart Disease, as it may be possible to obtain good relief from the symptoms with a number of approaches.

    What Advice Do You Get?

The actual advice given depends on the individual.

The treatments recommended will depend on the underlying factors predisposing to the condition. Acupuncture, Reflexology, VacuPressure or even Hypnotherapy may be extremely useful.

Nutritional, herbal and homoeopathic medicines can also be extremely useful. These may be used to improve the condition and to reduce the dosage and amount of conventional drugs required, for example in controlling blood pressure, blood cholesterol and so on.

A comprehensive treatment programme – based on the therapies discussed above – is recommended during your consultations.

    How Successful Is Our Treatment?

Our treatment programmes are usually very successful. We often succeed where others have failed.

The reason for this is due to the tests carried out – which enables us to tailor the treatments according to the specific needs of the individual – and also due to the experience we have gained over the years together with the efficacy of our unique, specialised products – herbal, homoeopathic and nutritional.

Most – if not all – of our patients have benefited from out treatment programmes. Individual treatment programmes may be complex, and may need some commitment to follow successfully. Dietary changes together with a number of supplements, herbal and / or homoeopathic medicines to take every day, together with weekly treatments may be required for a period of at least 10 – 12 weeks.

    How Much Does it Cost?

It is impossible to estimate the cost in any individual person, as the treatment recommended will vary from person to person.

The tests that may be required also vary in cost, and further information may be found together with information relating to each specific test.

The costs of individual therapies and products also differ, and you should refer to current price lists, or make enquiries at the Clinic.

We always offer a FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION, and further information regarding cost may be discussed at this time.

(Free consultations may not be available at all the Clinics we visit.)
