Welcome To Tims Blog   this was going to be a  page with a mixture of humour , information and help about the flats and the Isles of Scilly     but life is sometimes not like that and circumstances overtake  good intentions.

 our son Charles has just completed the London Marathon in a time of  3. 51.12  hours he finished
as runner 8568 out of 37 thousand runners, he was running to raise money for the Pelicanfoundation.org and
for Bowel Cancer UK following Angela,s life saving operation in Basingstoke hospital  Dec 2010

STATINS problems for Tim  May 2006 and onwards and now April 7th 2010  out of the blue, my darling wife Angela is diagnosed with COLON CANCER    .... up to date news please scroll down to      2010

Nov 6th 2010   latest news is that Angela has bowel cancer with secondaries in the liver.  
  since April she has had chemotherapy and a bowel operation and is now waiting for a liver
operation on 29th November. Brilliant NHS treatment  in Treliske hospital truro and now at
Basingstoke hospital

I thought my STATIN story was bad but this latest cancer problem is much worse BUT WE BOTH
HAVE A STEELY WILL TO SURVIVE.

 Medical notes,,if you know anyone who  is taking a STATIN and are having trouble walking,or aching 
shoulders, groin problems, tingling in arms or legs,  or just generally with jelly legs   .... this and much  worse happened to me,ie down to 100 yards walking, vertigo attack, legs and feet dumb, walking with a stick

and now not so good.

  I feel I should introduce my self, I am Tim Clifford , my wife Angela and I  first came eto the Islands
on 2nd December 1967   and by way of Star Castle  and Tregarthens hotel, then the Kavorna and 
the Bourdeaux shops, we are now at Smugglers Ride and harbour Lights holiday flats and in bus pass 
territory  age 70 plus  years.  In 2006   I was very fit and active, able to play golf, yoga twice a week
and 
plenty of walking.       STATIN BAD NEWS.   THIS A SUMMARY OF MY STATIN EXPERIENCE.
 I TOOK A STATIN 10mg Sinvastatin  FOR 8 WEEKS ( 56 little pills )  FROM MAY TO JULY 2006, 
REDUCING WALKING DOWN TO 100 YARDS by 3rd September 2006 , after a VERTIGO ATTACK 
( now classified as a stroke ) in early August 2006      The worrying part is that my medical advisors 
DID NOT believe that my problems were due to the statin,    I self diagnosed and took myself OFF
the statin   SO IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS, DO NOT TAKE ANOTHER STATIN  and 
LOOK VERY CAREFULLY at what drugs you are taking !   every drug has a side effect
!   have a statin holiday !
